Let's make a smoothie

Gather a rainbow of fruits and veggies and here we go!



Smoothie Recipe:
  • 1 cup frozen fruit (chose a rainbow of colors)
  • 1 cup coconut water (or any juice or milk/dairy-free milk
  • 1 loose cup kale (or spinach) or not
  • up to 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 banana

Shake it up! Blend in a blender.







If you don't have a blender, don't fret! You can still make healthy smoothies without one.
  • You can use fresh fruit and mash it with a fork; or thaw the frozen fruit in the refrigerator for a few hours and then smash with a fork. Put the fruit and juice into a lidded jar (a mason jar for instance) and shake it up! Maybe you want to skip the greens with this method.
  • You can use any type of  electric chopper: a food processor, an immersion blender, a stand mixer or electric beaters (even a hand-cranking egg beater or whisk). Again, maybe skip the greens. 
  • Pour a glass of juice/coconut water/milk. Put room temperature fruit in a bowl. Take a bite of fruit (don't chew), take a sip of drink, and swish swish swish in your mouth!
